Abstract:

The research adopts both a quantitative and a qualitative approach to study the participation of adults in educational activities, the incentives and reasons for participation, as well as the obstacles for participation in lifelong learning projects. The collection of data depicts some of the consequences of the economic crisis on the attitudes and behaviors of citizens regarding lifelong learning. Furthermore, the study includes a comparison of its findings with findings of other similar studies that have been conducted between 2003 -2012, mapping the evolution of the adult education and lifelong learning field over the last decade.
