Abstract:

Aspects of the social phenomenon that is the daily riding of a motorcycle by women are explored. Through the life stories of 20 motorcyclists, their careers are described, something that emphasizes the internally experiential and timeless dimension of the practical and symbolic course in the motorcycling existence, as well as the corresponding evolution of the relations with the familiar and the wider environment. In other words, to the extent that motorcycling is a "male affair" in general, the way in which these women, as they "organize" and present their experiences and thoughts regarding their motorcycling history and on this occasion, direct various, is examined. not necessarily harmonized with each other, versions of their female self.
